The International Intellectual Property Society is very pleased to announce that Harris A. Wolin and Michael Ben-Shimon from the firm of Myers Wolin, LLC, will be joining us on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, from 6 to 8 pm at the Pfizer building, 235 East 42nd St. in New York, for a panel discussion on Protecting your Cloud IP.  This presentation will provide an introduction to cloud computing, IP challenges in a cloud computing environment, related court decisions and practice tips.

 

Harris A. Wolin, Esq., Past President and Current Treasurer of the IIPS, is a founding member and Partner in the firm of Myers Wolin, and has extensive law firm and corporate experience in the area of domestic and international patent and trademark preparation and prosecution and counseling companies in connection with securing and expanding intellectual property rights worldwide.  He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Lafayette College and a law degree from Brooklyn Law, and is admitted to practice in NY, NJ, PA and DC.

 

Michael Ben-Shimon is registered to practice before the USPTO and has extensive experience in preparation and prosecution of patent applications in technology fields including, among others, software, semiconductors and circuits, wireless communication, medical devices, networking, security, Internet, databases, cloud computing, and process modeling.  He holds Bachelor of Science degrees in computer science and physics from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel and is a graduate of the IP Law and IP Business Management Executive Education Program of Tel Aviv University.

 

The fee for non-members is $20, or for law school students is $10.  For the nominal annual dues of $60, members can attend this and our other regular meetings through June 2011 at no additional charge.  Please RSVP to reserve your space, or contact us if you have any questions about this program, at iips@comcast.net.
