The International Intellectual Property Society is very pleased to announce that Mr. Benoît Battistelli, who recently was appointed as President of the European Patent Office (EPO) and is here for the annual Trilateral conference, will be joining us on November 15th from 6 to 8 pm at the Pfizer building, 235 East 42nd St. in New York, to provide an Update on Recent Developments before the EPO.  A panel discussion of Hot Topics will follow, with Marc Jonas Block, Esq. joining Mr. Battistelli.

Mr. Benoît Battistelli began his five-year term as President of the European Patent Office (EPO) on 1 July 2010.  Mr Battistelli was previously Director General of the French National Institute of Industrial Property.   He is also the former chairman of the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation.

Mr. Block is a senior associate at Kucker & Bruh, LLP. whose legal practice includes trademark prosecution, intellectual property licenses, and commercial litigation.   He serves as the President of the IIPS and is an active member of the New York State Bar Association.

The fee for non-members is $20, or for law school students is $10.  For the nominal annual dues of $60, members can attend this and our other regular meetings through June 2011 at no additional charge.  Please RSVP to reserve your space, or contact us if you have any questions about this program.

As with IIPS programs in general, NY and NJ CLE credit will be offered.  This seminar will provide one (1) transitional/non-transitional CLE credit.  Send your Membership Form with annual dues, or meeting payment by November 5, 2010, to Harris Wolin at Myers Wolin, LLC, 100 Headquarters Plaza, Morristown, NJ 07960.

We look forward to seeing you in November and at future events.  We welcome your comments and suggestions for programs that might be of interest to you.

                                             Sincerely,
