March-2012 – Brands, Blogs, and the Big Bad Wolf

The International Intellectual Property Society (“IIPS”) is very pleased to announce that on Tuesday, March 13th, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Stephen R. Baird, Esq., head of Intellectual Property and Trademark and Brand Management with Winthrop & Weinstine in Minneapolis, and recently named by Minnesota Lawyer as a ‘2011 Attorney of the Year’, will address international issues in branding such as trademark bullying in a presentation of “Brands, Blogs, and the Big Bad Wolf” at the IBM facility at 590 Madison Avenue in New York.

Steven Baird’s practice focuses on trademark law, related unfair competition law and copyright law. He has counseled clients in a diverse array of matters including trademark usage and clearance, branding strategies, domestic and worldwide portfolio management, and Internet domain name disputes, and has represented many companies in litigation matters in federal court or before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Mr. Baird is also an active member of numerous bar associations and frequently lectures either as an adjunct professor or guest speaker on various IP topics. Mr. Baird received his J.D., with high distinction, from University of Iowa College of Law, and is admitted to practice in Minnesota.
